Located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, South Miami is a small suburb of Miami with a population of about 11,000. The town was incorporated in 1927 and is the oldest municipality in the area after Coral Gables.

With its ideal location, residents are never far from the best shopping, dining and entertainment venues that South Florida has to offer.

It is also within walking distance to the University of Miami and Coral Gables, Pinecrest and unincorporated Miami-Dade.

South Miami has very vibrant and pedestrian friendly down town. A popular venue is Sunset Place, and open air mall. There are also many out door restaurants and cafes as well.

The town is served by the Miami Dade Public School district, including such award-winning schools as:

  • South Miami Elementary School
  • South Miami Middle School
  • South Miami High School
